WHAT TYPE OF CHOCOLATE SHOULD YOU USE FOR CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES?

Since this is such a simple recipe with just two essential ingredients, the quality of the chocolate is necessary. The higher rate of chocolate, the better they will taste, and I have found that using GHIRARDELLI Semi-sweet chocolate works best.

Ingredients:

(2) 4 oz package Ghirardelli Baking Bar 1 white chocolate 1 semi sweet or chocolate of choice.

1 pound of Fresh Strawberry Stems attached

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES:

Wash and dry the strawberries.

Prepare desired toppings (nuts, toasted coconut, etc.)

Microwave Method: Using a microwave-safe container, place chocolate in the microwave oven on medium power (50%) for 1-1 ½ minutes. Remove and stir. If melted, return to the microwave and repeat the heating steps, stirring every 30 seconds, as scorching can occur. When small lumps remain, please remove them and continue to stir to complete melting.

Prepping Your Station:

Once the chocolate has begun melting, pull out a baking sheet and line it with parchment or wax paper. Next, grab your strawberries and decorations and set them up conveniently.

Dipping!

Now the fun part! Wrap your bowl of chocolate in a towel to keep the chocolate warm. Take a strawberry by the leaves, dunk it into the chocolate, and rotate it if needed from side to side. If the bowl is too shallow, transfer the chocolate into a mug, so all you need to do is dip the strawberry once to get it entirely covered. Lay the strawberry down on the parchment or wax paper and repeat.

HOW TO STORE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES:

Store chocolate-covered strawberries in a cool location.  You may store them in the refrigerator, uncovered, for up to one day, leaving them on the same baking sheet you placed them on after dipping. If serving them the same day you make them (which is preferred), store them uncovered, on your counter, and away from sunlight or heat.
