A weekend in Baltimore to watch the Baltimore Ravens
Play in the Wild Card Playoff

A Weekend in Baltimore: Rivalry, Football, and Fun

When your husband is a die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan, and you proudly don black and Yellow as a Pittsburgh Steelers supporter, a Wild Card playoff matchup between these two fierce rivals becomes the perfect excuse for a weekend getaway. Last weekend, my husband and I traded the bustling streets of New York City for the charm of Baltimore, Maryland. Our mission? To enjoy football, good food, and a little friendly rivalry.
Getting to Baltimore: Relaxation on the Rails

We started our journey aboard Amtrak from New York Penn Station to Baltimore Penn Station. The train ride was a refreshing change from the usual hustle of airports or the stress of driving.

The seats were spacious, the views of the countryside were serene, and the rhythmic sway of the train offered an opportunity to relax and chat about the weekend ahead. By the time we arrived in Baltimore, we were energized and ready to dive into all the cities had to offer.
Outfit Attire For those who have been following my journey on Instagram, you might recall that date nights and weekend getaways with my husband often come with a fun twist: we love coordinating our outfits! This weekend, however, we chose a different approach, prioritizing warmth and comfort over style. We donned cozy hoodies and joggers that allowed us to feel snug while reveling in our time together.

I opted for a vibrant black and yellow Pittsburgh Steelers hoodie, brimming with team spirit, while my husband sported his Ravens hoodie in striking purple and black, showcasing his loyalty to his favorite team.
We both found our hoodies on Amazon, where we’ve had great luck with quality pieces.

As the weather was quite chilly, I decided to make a stop at Macy’s, where I discovered an enticing winter sale. I couldn’t resist picking out matching winter coats for us—a clubhouse camo reversible puffer jacket that provided exceptional warmth and a touch of style. The jackets not only kept us cozy but also added a fun element to our ensemble.

To complete our look, I also purchased a comfortable gray jogger set from High Society. This relaxed outfit was perfect for the journey back home to New York, ensuring we traveled in both style and comfort. I genuinely enjoy coordinating outfits with my husband; it’s a little expression of love for me, and it makes our time together even more special
Checking In: Harbor Views and Luxurious Comfort

We chose the Canopy by Hilton Baltimore Harbor Point as our home base for the weekend, and it was a fantastic decision.

The hotel’s modern design, incredible harbor views, and cozy atmosphere made it the ideal retreat.

Our room felt like a private haven, and we spent some time admiring the sweeping views of the Inner Harbor before heading out to explore the city.
Pre-Game Feast: A Baltimore Tradition

No visit to Baltimore is complete without indulging in some local crab, and we made our way to LP Steamers to do just that. This casual, no-frills spot is a favorite for locals and tourists alike, and it’s easy to see why. We donned bibs, cracked open steaming crabs, and savored every bite. Paired with cold drinks and lively conversation, it was the perfect way to embrace the city’s culinary culture.
Game Day: Divided Loyalties

Saturday brought the main event: the Wild Card playoff game at M&T Bank Stadium. The atmosphere was electric, with fans donning jerseys, waving flags, and chanting for their teams. As a Steelers fan in enemy territory, I expected some good-natured ribbing, and Ravens fans didn’t disappoint. Still, it was all good fun, and the camaraderie between fans of both teams reminded me why football is such a unifying sport.

The game itself was a rollercoaster of emotions. The tension, cheers, and groans from the crowd kept us on the edge of our seats. Even though my Steelers didn’t come out on top, the energy in the stadium and the shared experience with my husband made it an unforgettable day.
Late-Night Eats: Pizza and Wings

After the game, we were ready to unwind with some comfort food, and Pie in the Sky delivered in spades. Tucked away and cozy, this spot serves mouthwatering pizza and wings.

We opted for the Meat Lover’s Pizza, loaded with toppings, and a plate of Lemon Pepper Wings that were perfectly crispy and tangy. It was the perfect way to end the night, reflecting on the game and enjoying a meal that was as satisfying as the day had been exciting.
Exploring Baltimore’s Charm

While the football game was the centerpiece of our trip, the city of Baltimore left a lasting impression. The historic Inner Harbor, the warm hospitality of locals, and the vibrant energy of the city added depth to our weekend.

Even as rivals, my husband and I found common ground in appreciating the beauty of this waterfront city.
The Journey Home

As we boarded the train back to New York, we reflected on an incredible weekend. The relaxing train ride gave us time to recount our favorite moments, from the pre-game crab feast to the unforgettable playoff atmosphere. The friendly rivalry between us only added to the adventure, and we left Baltimore with a deeper appreciation for each other and for the magic of sports.
Whether you’re a football fan, a foodie, or someone seeking a weekend escape, Baltimore has something special to offer. For us, it was a mix of rivalry, love, and shared memories that made it a trip to remember.
