We’re Outside All Summer: An Unforgettable Tasting Menu Experience at Eleven Madison Park

There are date nights, and then there are experiences that stay with you forever.

As part of our annual “We’re Outside All Summer” series, my husband and I planned a weekend staycation in New York City. Living in New York makes it easy to get caught up in work, responsibilities, and everyday routines, so now and then we remind ourselves to become tourists in our own city.

This weekend, we treated ourselves to one of the most celebrated dining experiences in the world, Eleven Madison Park.

From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary dinner. Every detail was intentional, from the warm welcome to the elegant dining room overlooking Madison Square Park. It felt less like visiting a restaurant and more like attending an intimate culinary performance.

A Celebration of Seasonal Ingredients

The evening’s tasting menu, titled Magic Farms Celebration, highlighted the beauty of fresh, seasonal ingredients. One thing I appreciated most was how every course honored nature while transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary.

The experience began with beautiful presentations of tomatoes, crisp vegetables, and vibrant flavors that looked almost too pretty to eat.

Fresh cucumbers, leafy greens, and delicate vegetable preparations were served with incredible attention to detail. Every plate looked like a piece of artwork.

Next came one of my favorite courses—the avocado topped with sea urchin and vibrant trout roe. The richness of the avocado paired perfectly with the briny seafood, creating a bite that was creamy, refreshing, and unforgettable.

Another standout was the lobster course, beautifully prepared and served with elegant accompaniments that highlighted rather than overpowered the lobster itself. Every bite reminded us why fresh ingredients don’t need to be complicated to be memorable.

The corn dish was another surprise. What appeared to be a simple bowl transformed into layers of sweet summer corn, delicate herbs, and subtle flavors that celebrated one of the season’s most recognizable vegetables. It’s amazing how talented chefs can elevate something so familiar into something truly luxurious.

Every course that followed continued the same philosophy, beautiful presentation, thoughtful ingredients, and flavors that complemented one another perfectly.

A Perfect Wine Pairing

No fine dining experience is complete without exceptional wine.

For dinner, we enjoyed a 2013 Léon Beyer Comtes d’Eguisheim Pinot Gris from Alsace. As wine lovers, we appreciated how beautifully it paired with the progression of the tasting menu. The wine offered elegance, balance, and enough complexity to evolve with each course.

Instead of competing with the food, it enhanced every bite, allowing us to appreciate the creativity of each dish even more.

Sometimes the perfect wine doesn’t demand attention—it quietly elevates the entire experience.

The Little Details Matter

One thing Eleven Madison Park does exceptionally well is making guests feel appreciated.

At the conclusion of dinner, we were presented with a personalized menu dated July 18, 2026, allowing us to remember every course we enjoyed throughout the evening. As someone who loves collecting memories from our travels and date nights, this instantly became a keepsake.

Even more thoughtful was the parting gift—a beautifully packaged jar of the restaurant’s signature house-made granola for us to enjoy the next morning.

Those small gestures may seem simple, but they create lasting memories long after the meal is over.

Why Date Nights Matter

People often ask why my husband and I prioritize date nights so consistently.

The answer is simple. Life gets busy.

Between managing our careers, operating our businesses, creating content, and handling everyday responsibilities, it’s easy to put our relationship on autopilot. We intentionally refuse to do that.

Date nights allow us to reconnect without distractions. We laugh, talk, try new experiences, and continue investing in each other. We truly believe that strong marriages aren’t built on grand vacations alone; they’re built on consistently choosing one another, week after week.

That’s why our “We’re Outside All Summer” series has become so special to us. It’s our reminder that making memories together is one of the best investments we can make.

You Don’t Have to Leave Home to Feel Like You’re Traveling

One of the best parts of this experience is that it happened right here in New York City.

A staycation can be just as meaningful as traveling across the country when you approach it with intention. Exploring your own city through new restaurants, hotels, museums, and experiences allows you to appreciate where you live from a completely different perspective.

This weekend reminded us that luxury isn’t always about boarding a plane.

Sometimes it’s dressing up, holding hands across the table, sharing incredible food, and creating another chapter in your love story.

Final Thoughts

Our evening at Eleven Madison Park was everything we hoped it would be and more.

It wasn’t simply about the tasting menu or the exceptional wine, it was about slowing down, celebrating our marriage, and creating another unforgettable memory together.

We’ll remember the stunning presentations, the thoughtful hospitality, the perfectly paired Pinot Gris, and the surprise granola waiting for us as we left.

Most importantly, we’ll remember the joy of spending uninterrupted time together.

Because at the end of the day, that’s what We’re Outside All Summer is really about—not just going places but making every moment count with the person you love.

Here’s to more date nights, more adventures, and more unforgettable meals. Cheers! ?
