Jalapeno Popper Dip

Updated: Jan 24

With the Superbowl coming up, serving appetizers is essential for any game-day party. If you want a crowd-pleasing option, consider making Jalapeno Popper Dip! This delicious dip has all the flavors of Jalapeno Poppers but without the hassle of having to assemble each individual popper. Plus, it's loaded with extra cheese and bacon, making it an irresistibly tasty treat everyone will love.

I've been known to play around with recipes, and this dip is one of them. Sunday is my Self-Care Day. I usually hit up HomeGoods and go to the gym for a couple of hours, but since Monday was Valentine's Day, I had a facial that lasted longer than I thought; my hubby purchased a Valentine's Day package for my facial. After my spa day, I went to the market and picked up some last-minute produce I needed for my appetizer dishes.

I bought a dozen Jalapeno peppers to make some Poppers for my Super Bowl party, but I didn't know that the grocery store would be crowded with people, and I had to wait 20 minutes in line. So, I rushed home to prepare my appetizer for the big game. I noticed the clock was against me, and I didn't have time to stuff all 24 Peppers. I asked myself what to do with all these ingredients if I needed more time to make my Jalapeno Popper. I said, hey, this would make for the perfect Dip since I had a ton of crackers, chips, and baguettes. So, I started to make my dish.

I added a unique ingredient to these Jalapeno Popper dips that I usually don't add to my poppers, heavy cream. Somehow, the hubby and I purchased heavy cream for one of his recipes for the party. So, we had extra heavy cream, and I didn't want it to expire for no use, so I decided to incorporate it into my jalapeño dip. When I tell you it made a bit different in taste, the Dip was so creamy and flavorful. The jalapeño popper dip lasted less than five minutes. Seriously I only had one bit of it when it came fresh out of the oven. So, if you love Jalapeno Poppers, this dish will be your next hit at your next gathering.

You can find the full measurements below in the recipe card!

Ingredients:

  • Seasoning – garlic powder and onion powder

  • Jalapeños - I use fresh jalapenos in this recipe because they are so tasty. You can customize the heat by adding or removing seeds and membranes from the pepper. Seeds = heat.

  • Cream cheese – the base of the dip.

  • Bacon – instead of wrapping bacon around the poppers, it’s chopped up and put right into the dip!

  • Cheddar cheese Have a nice salty taste.

  • Parmesan Cheese- Topping for the Popper Dip

  • Ritz Cracker for the crispy crunchy taste for the topping

Scallion- They have an onion- but mild bite that is not as intense as regular onions

  • Heavy Cream- Give the dip an extra creamy taste

  • Olive Oil- Room Temperature

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate OR an 8×8 baking dish with non-stick spray.

Add cream cheese, Heavy Cream, Cheddar Cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, sour cream Jalapenos, and scallion and bacon to a large bowl. Using an electric hand mixer or wooden spoon, beat until creamy.

Spread mixture evenly into prepared pan.

Combine crushed Crackers, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil in a medium bowl. Mix until combined, then sprinkle evenly over the top of the dip.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot and breadcrumbs are golden brown. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped fresh jalapeno, if desired. Serve warm with toasted baguette or chips and enjoy!
